Amen means

Amen means “This is sure to be!”,
That Christ, my Lord, listens close to me,
In spite of all my insincerity.

Inspired by The Heidelberg Catechism
129 Q. WHAT DOES THAT LITTLE WORD “AMEN” EXPRESS?
A. Amen means

This is sure to be!
It is even more sure
that God listens to my prayer,
than that I really desire
what I pray for.

Isaiah 65:24 – “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”

II Corinthians 1:20 – “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.”

II Timothy 2:13 – “If we believe not, yet he abideth faithful: he cannot deny himself.”
