They watch the boy unwind
In mindful dissonance.
Their condescending smiles
Are pleased by this offense.
Their sweet redoubt of shrines
Won’t offer him defense.
His flight or fight response
Probed at his expense.
Their shutting down his mind,
Appealing to his sense,
As well the viewers who,
With hunger for such “news”,
Have offered up their minds,
Fifty million views.
