Man needs God to be,
Faith to reason free,
Truth to view our fraud,
Life to offer God.

Truth—is as old as God— by Emily Dickinson
Truth—is as old as God—
His Twin identity
And will endure as long as He
A Co-Eternity—
And perish on the Day
Himself is borne away
From Mansion of the Universe
A lifeless Deity.
Identity
Identity our enemy,
To otherness we wed,
Aimed at God our enmity
Alive but living dead.
Now what we are, we may not be,
Identified this way,
Each of us a deity
Just in the others way.
His dogs
Goodness and mercy His dogs,
Hounding us down where we pasture,
Steering us out of each bog,
Rescuing us from disaster.
Inspired by Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Masked
The love of man dared,
With lawlessness layered,
Hate masked as caring,
The love of God sparing.
Mind controlled Christmas
His mind controlled Christmas,
Our Father, His plan,
The seed of the woman,
Our God became man.
Arts ungraded
Art’s ungraded fine or coarse
Beauty’s rated just a force
God from man the great divorce
From the dust
From the dust of Eden’s floor,
Living by God’s very breath,
Man progressed away from God,
Choosing sin, in love with death.
Earthy
Earthy our times
Darkened our days
All in His hands
Nails there His stays
Our life in Him
Dead buried raised
Great is our God
Worthy of praise
Forevermore
Seek the pleasure who is God,
In His refuge David stood,
Other pleasures just a fraud,
Apart from Him there is no good.
Counsel set at his right hand,
Whole his being there secure.
God’s right hand we understand,
Pleasures there forevermore.
(inspired by Psalm 16)
