Sensing some detention,
Shackled her anxiety,
Feelings in suspension,
Stolen her sobriety,
Thoughts, their comprehension,
Sentenced to her memory,
Flat, without dimension,
Jailed her mind with chemistry.
Tag: mind
Dimmer every pigeon
Calmly calamity
Calmly calamity,
In Christ we find,
Rivers of sanity,
Our peace His mind.
1 Corinthians 2:16 – “For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? but we have the mind of Christ.”
Attacking words
Attacking words alone,
She voids them obsolete.
Policing minds for free
With logic incomplete.
Programmed by her TV,
On citizen patrol,
She’s a grammar drone,
Run by remote control.
Squared
We grid a prison in reverse
Shutting off a world of care.
Within its structure we immerse
Letter boxed to sit and stare.
Deep within the sanctuary,
A thousand points of colored light,
Silently and temporary,
Mind divided left and right.
Consciousness we all surrender,
Breathing in whatever’s aired,
Offered real to the pretender,
Hollywood that leaves us squared.
Shake and bake
Shiny shallow news cartoons
Shaking down our living rooms,
Keeping truth suppressed,
Baking us distressed.
Bottle
Bottle go and smoke it.
Stab at it and poke it.
Empty it and choke it.
Steadily provoke it.
Statutes holding on.
Weaker making strong.
Joining in His throng,
Right against the wrong.
(This poem inspired by Psalm 119:83 – “ For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.”)
Faith coming first
Faith coming first
The only foundation,
God presupposed
His proper station,
Reason then stands
Without negation,
His Holy Word
Rock of Salvation.
Out of
Out of thick darkness
Out of the cloud
Out of the fire
Spoken aloud
Written on tablets
Adding no more
His Ten commandments
For evermore
(The poem above inspired by Deuteronomy 5:22 – “These words the LORD spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more . And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.”)
Word in the head
By what He said
Spoken a right
Word in the head
Muscles made tight
Quickening dread
Just by His might
Raising the dead
God’s Word in sight
